I checked quite a few threads.

Doing a trunk-mounted battery in my 93.

I am having a **** of a time finding a good spot to get this 2 gauge wire through the firewall. If I have to drill, I will. It just seems that through the passenger compartment, I cannot find any sort of grommet or anything to poke through, and the dash/blower motor components sit too low to really reach up to drill high.

Not to mention how tough all the plastic sound deadening/insulation is to fight.

Any before anyone mentions it, I know there is a more accessible spot on the driver side, but I am running it through the passenger side.

I do see this, which appears to be something connected to to blower motor?

Help :thankyou:

I didn't relocate my battery but I did run 0ga through the passenger side firewall, as I have 3 extra batteries for my stereo in the trunk. I pulled back the carpet, lifted up the plastic cover revealing the metal surface. I referenced from where it would come out on the other side of the car. I drilled close to where the cover for the power steering hoses is (the shroud from to protect from heat from manifold). It worked out rather nicely, I was able to run it up similar to the other wire coming up.

There's some wiring channels run along the inside there too that the wire will go through, a clothes hangar works nicely to feed it through.

I drilled the hole a little larger so that I could accomodate some sort of "grommet" which I would've much rather used instead of drilling. I used hot glue though filled in around the wire, which gives you a nice filler, and protects the wire from being cut.

I hope this helps you.

The hole you are showing in your picture is the lower ac line to the evap. If I may ask why do you want to run it through the passenger side?

-nothing easy on the PS. there is a harness coming thru up high behind the strut tower area, but unless u fed wire backwards from the engine compartment and tried to find it from under the dash, it would be hard doing it from the inside out....

You can drill through 2g wire and use a coat hanger with a hook on the end, tape it up and you'll be able to fish it through much easier, wherever the hole.

I only have 16ft of 2ga.. pop your hood ;) the existing battery used to sit on the passenger side.
