Where is the best place to buy the timing and serpentine belts at? These are the only two belts on the engine right? Also can you get the crankshaft sensor anywhere besides Ford?
thanks

Crank sensors, Timing Belts and accessory / Serpentine belts can be gotten through Rockauto.com, or Autozone, etc.

Gates Timing Belt T-248 at Rockauto is around $35; it's $66 locally here in the northeast for the same Gates part.

Accessory belts are about the same locally as they are mail order.

Not sure if you have an ATX/MTX.When you say best I'm assuming cheapest. Rockauto.com sells the Gates timing belt for around $30. ATX's have 1 serpentine drive belt, MTX's have 2. Check out Rockauto.com for the price of those as well. The crank sensor can be had from Autozone for around $45. It is not a Ford only part.

Welcome to the SHO Forum. I am also in the Metroplex area. The lowest priced source that I have located for the belts is RockAuto.com. The belts should be replaced on the 3.0L at 60,000 mile intervals and the 3.2L at 100,000 mile intervals. While replacing the timing belt, the water pump ($61 remanufactured, with lifetime warranty), crankshaft position sensor ($43) and front main crankshaft oil seal ($8) are usually replaced.

Timing belt
3.0L & 3.2L: Gates T248 $32.81
Accessory belt(s)
3.0L: PS Gates K040500 $10.47
3.0L: A/C Gates K060445 $11.40
3.2L: Gates K060854 $20.58

i just bought my timing belt last week at a local Advance Auto for $21.00 (not gates). the web site (www.partsamerica.com) says something like $65, so i asked the clerk at the store he said i'm not sure but that must be wrong. so if you were to call an advance auto you my get a better price.

good luck.
