did you try the stock belts? I know people say you need the UDP belts but I have a 3 pulley kit and mine went on fine (little fighting but they are on and tightened to where they should be). You might be able to get the stockers on and just tighten the tensioners up a bit more, but I could be wrong maybe with the UD crank pulley the belts are just to loose.

I have the SHOshop crank and Water pump UDP's and have a stock belt on my '89; I do have the longer belt here somewhere that came with the set of 3 UDP's rom SHOSHop, and could sell that to you if you need it; I returned the alternator UDP since it did not fit, but can't understand why the stock belt would not fit with just the crank pulley on yours.

not sure why either! i adjusted the tensioners to the max and they were still way too long.....the underdrive crank pulley is 4.5" compared to the stock 6" pulley...

You just need to get a belt that will accomodate that. Make sure you have a ballpark figure of how much extra space you have. Alot of us stayed away from the crank pulley and only got the u/d accessory pulleys which were larger diameter not smaller diameter like your crank pulley. That's why there's not as much response. We mostly had what Area 91 referred to.

The UDP crank pulley is direclty connected to the rotating assembly and much lighter than the stocker; I definitely noticed quicker revving after installing it. It is a worthwhile upgrade, and unless you have installed one and seen the improvement, you would not know how well it works on your car.
