I've done a search and can't find what i'm looking for. I've heard somewhere about simply reaching under the dash and unplugging the BDA to keep it from thumping like it is now. I don't care if it's on full heat....with it coming up on winter, I'd prefer it. So how would I go about doing this?

reach through the glovebox opening, there is a white plug against the plenum, unplug that connector, it's an 8 pin connector with 7 wires going into it.

if in doubt, check my dash thread in the howto section, it will show you what one to disconnect.
