BBB Scam

Has anyone out there ordered BBB's on e-bay from mustangiithousand?My son & I did and never got anything. I tried all numbers and e-mails and all are disconnected. If anyone else got scamed , I'd be curious to know about it.

Leave the **** bad feedback, I doubt Paypal will be any help. You might also consider calling your credit card company to dispute the charges if you used your credit card thru Paypal.

If it's any consolation, I know a vendor you can trust that has the BBB's in stock. PM or email Mikey at Midwest or get in touch with Kurt G. Those 2 you can trust.

i bought from this ***** also and got screwed. i gave bad feedback and reported this to ebay. ebay hasnt done anything bout it so far. didnt think to call the credit card company. ill have to try that and see if they can do anything bout it. it really ticks me off that there are jerks out there like this. what would it cost to take this to a legal level?

Contact your credit card company first off. They'll charge it back to Paypal and then Paypal will in turn charge it off to him. They may not ever get anything from him but who cares. Paypal obviously doesn't care about the customer like they used to so I say hit them where it hurts....right in the pocketbook.

As for what can be done on a legal level....well, you can report him to the internet consumer fraud division. From what I understand they take things seriously but I'm sure action is slow given that internet fraud is so prevalent. I'm sure they get tons of complaints these days.

You also have to put on a scale what it's worth to you to go any further than that. Ask yourself whether you're willing to pay more out of your pocket to get possibly nothing in return. Sure, you could take him to court but if he claims he doesn't have the cash to pay you back I really don't know what other recourse you have other than placing a personal judgement against him. I think it would take a group effort to really make anything happen which I feel is just sad.

And no doubt he'll send you nasty emails filled with all sorts of insults and nasty language also claiming that he has free legal through Chrysler or GM (I forget which). But don't let that scare you off if you do decide to pursue it legally. It is my understanding through some of my sources of info that this guy's been unemployed from them for a few years now and when he did work for them he drove a hi-lo. Woo.....somehow I really don't think that they're going to give an ex ***-on hi-lo driver free legal after termination of employment from them. His wife wears the pants and is the bread winner in their family and he plays "Mr. Mom". Maybe that's why he's such a miserable person. I feel sorry for the kids.

Call the police! Report the crime!

You should still call your credit card companies ASAP to dispute the charges, but reporting it to the police can help those who didn't pay by credit card, as well as subject this slug to the scrutiny of law enforcement.

True that Chris. I wonder how it's handled when the buyer is in a different state though. I think most of the time people are told to contact their local PD and the local PD really doesn't give a rip since it's out of state. Catch 22. That's the only reason I didn't suggest reporting it to a PD.

Thanks to all of you who replied. What really burns me up is that this guy took my son's money. He just turned 17 and has been working on his SHO for a year and has to work prety hard to earn his money. This guy knew this because we had an e-mail correspondence about it. So he took our money and our cores anyway....I just hope I never run into him. Tough lesson learned I guess. If anyone cares, I have his name and address (at least where I sent the cores). I'd post it but I'm not sure if you are allowed to do that.

I had plans to order a y-pipe from Midwest so I guess I'll order a set of BBB's from him too (2-sets actually).

I totally understand your frustration and I feel bad for your son as well. It sucks losing that kind of money. Generally speaking we don't allow addreses to be posted, but you are allowed to post his first and last name. Everybody here is probably pretty familiar with the doughboy from Flint, MI though.

Fellas, if you paid through paypal file a claim. They will take his money and if he cant prove he shipped the items, in 10 days the money is yours back.

No they won't, Paypal is a joke of a company... many members on here have lost thousands of dollars through paypal because of situations like this. Thats why you should use your credit card because if you catch it in time, you can notify them and they will do the rest.

Ever since Flea-Bay bought Pay-Pal I've noticed ALOT of people not accepting Pay-Pal. I remember seeing something last week about 2 companies were discussing a meger/buying of E-bay? Dunno, maybe I was tootired to read it fully...
