Ive replaced both alternator AND Battery, My Volt guage was reading back to 14V for a couple of weeks. Now the light is coming back on in bursts ever now and then. The Volt meter drops to 12V even at full throttle, it used to idle 14V. Any ideas?

I dont see how the alt could be dying already, Its a month old brand new (not rewound) Boch. I even removed my sub and amp just incase once I replaced the alternator. Ill go out and check the connections. Its just so random that Its confusing me. What else sets off the Batt light besides the Alt and Battery? Or even better, what are the reasons the Batt light comes on? Low Power? Bad something in the "power" structure?

remove the alternator and file the points where it grounds to your engine, both on the alternater and engine. Just file enough to clean them. Also do the same on both ends of the ground connecting the engine to the chasis. And thirdly do this on the cable and screw where the hot feeds the alternator. Be sure to disconnect the battery when you do this.

Just because it's new dosen't mean it's good. :) I belive the battery light comes on when the voltage is dangerously low; but don't quote me. Definatly try MelectroK's suggestions.

The 3 wire plug that inserts at the top of the alternator often times breaks at the terminal inside the weatherpack. A broken wire inside the plug/insulation will cause this. You can easily check for broken wires with a multimeter.
