Bad multi-function switch?

Will a bad multi-function switch cause my wipers to stay on after I push the washer fluid button. Also when I turn my wipers off they don't go all the way down. When I shut them off they stay at the same spot.

Could either be a bad MFS as you indicate, or possibly a bad wiper motor. I'd replace the MFS first, though, as - honestly - I think it's easier to change.

Is a gen 3 MFS an upgrade? It looks like it will plug right in.

Replace the wiper motor. The park sense is gone int the wiper motor.

Phoenix did this. IIRC he had to fix a minor issue of some sort, but I've heard of others who've done it with no issues at all.

I have a 98 SLO that was exibiting "bad MFS" symptoms.

I replaced it with a good one from a 92 and it works great.

So I would say that "yes, a gen 3 MFS will work in a gen1/2"

Is it an "upgrade"?
Only if you like the way it looks and feels over the old knurled handle.

Just in case anyone does a search my problem was the wiper motor not the MFS.
