What do you think? I've always heard it described as polishing the intake... not scratching it! There is a small square cutout in the hood pad that caused the scratches. Hope the pic. shows it...

Mine kinda does that too, only it's on the right side of the plenum and it's pretty severe. I think a part of it is because the car has a regular Taurus hood on it. The Prev. Owner said it wasn't any different, but I think it is.

if the motor is jumping high enough to hit the hood then you have a real problem and it needs to be fix asap. i broke my front mount let it go a bit, and ended up with a broken radiator hose, broken speedodemtor cable and broken trans mount. all because i waited a little.

well, I did the "test" from shotimes.com and it appeared to pass. Maybe the motor mount has already been fixed...prior to me owning it...
Where exactly is it... and how would you be able to tell if its shot? Any pics?

my intake paint are rubbed/worn off. i bought it that way and had the motor mounts checked by a couple of shops and they all claim that its ok. i also did the test on my own, there's slight movement but nothin to lose sleep over on. i also had a couple of people from SHOCAGO check it out too, some thinks its the motor mounts but its not, a few also noticed that the paint just wore/rubbed off. it makes my engine looks nasty....
