Bad Mileage And A Surge I Think?

Okay here's the deal I picked up a 94 atx last week, car has high kilometres(255,000), but seems to run excellent.The body is in great shape and looks to be well taken care of.My problem is it's getting horrible mileage, it's draining my bank account!And no there is not A HOLE IN MY TANK.It also seems to have a problem when cruising at between 60 to 80 kilometres an hour almost like it's cutting out, very hard to tell but it's there. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys.Also any one have any lowering springs 4 sale need to get this thing down.

First off, welcome to the forum! Have you seen the "Check Engine" light illuminated since you've gotten the car? I would start with the basics and check the codes. You'll find instructions on how to do this here (it's very simple). Another thing you should check for is oil in the spark plug wells. Just pull the plug wires off of the three plugs on the left bank (closest to the radiator) and see if there's any oil in the plug wells.

Let us know what you find, and we'll go from there!

Corey thanks a bunch.I checked the plug wells when I first got it and yes there is oil in them not as bad as my 89' though. I do have a handheld code checker and will check the codes tomorrow. Thanks
