I just took my DIS off to inspect it and the DIS itself is cracked by the connector. Someone had taken silicone and treid to repair it. I wonder if this is where my misfire if coming from. If the DIS ot wet even once I suppose the "innerds" could have corroded.. What do you guys think

shomesomesho : Yea Autozone can check it for free.

note:eventhough i didnt have a problem getting 3 different DIS checked, a club member told me that someone at autozone told them they couldnt checked their DIS because it was an OBD1 car. So if that happens, just say the DIS module is from a 93-95 car (thats what I said, eventhough the DIS i had checked came from ATX and MTX s from diff years)

oh, nevermind that part then. (they checked my original 93 atx and my 90 mtx DIS fine)

edit: I've washed my engine bay many times, and my DIS is still fine. So im not sure if that would've caused it to fail.

The DIS electronics are potted in a sort of epoxy, from the cracked up one I've seen. I don't think water is your issue.

i call that quote. hahahaha damn that is pretty funny, how far back did you have to go to get that? good stuff. i bet no heat sync glue or whatever would make a difference since that surge tank gets real damn hot. would make sense why it would run like crap when its hot and good when its cold. also would make sense why it might work for a little bit and then get a lot worse.
