I replaced the alternater back in december. And after having it tested at autozone, just a few weeks ago, they said it was bad, replaced it for free with the warrenty. Now After a week with the new alternater, when I start the car and pretty much all the time driving, the interior lights pulsate as well as the headlights. Any clue as to what the problem might be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most units from the chair stores are junk. You need to check the 'new' units on the test bench before you put it on your car. I went through about 6 units in one weekend in 3 or 4 stores before I got one that worked properly.

There was someone who used to post here and worked at a chain autoparts store who said the rate of returns for faulty reman. starters and alts. was incredible. A local rebuild might be a better way to go.

I went with a local rebuilder for my Alternator. It's been great since October and only cost me $70. I suggest you look into that option. Any auto electric place that rebuilds alternators and starters should be able to do it.

Thanks for the input. I've got a couple options i guess. So everyone is pretty sure its the alternator thats being wierd? Not something else possibly. What do you think will happen if i dont do something about this soon? I dont care about replacing the alternator cuz its easy to do and its free under warrenty, but do you think that could cause something else to go wrong?

It can cause all kinds of weird electrical problems. Nothing that will really damage anything I think but I would not drive around with a faulty alt. for fear of being stranded in a really inconvenient place. If it doesn't charge the battery properly you could drain it to the point where it won't hold a charge. When it goes, a jump won't get you anywhere and you'll have to pay for a tow. That covers the cost of a rebuild right there.

Exactly, Why pay the charge of inconvenient strandings.
