Back on the Road...

Well tonite i finally got my sho runnin after sitting on jackstands for a month receiving a 60k.. Car runs reeeall nice. Except that its burning a little bit of oil and is smoking a little bit through the engine compartment... any one ever run into this?

did you replace cam seals? VC gaskets?

Either one will smoke under the hood. there are others, but since you did a 60k, these are the more prominent(sp?) ones.

Yes i replaced both. I havent seen oil anywhere.. But i think it may be some of the degreeser still left over in the intake and the antisieze on the Y yipie bolts.. I looked under the car a little while ago and noticed a little bit of smoke comin off. So maybe thats it.. Oh.. and i noticed theres still a small coolant leak..*grrrr...* i guess this weekend ill have to take a look at it again and see if there is anything that i had missed...

I would let the engine run for a while and see if the smoke goes away. I would also say its probley just the degresser and any oil that dripped out.

I got my car running and out of the garage yeaterday as well. And the coutch isnt grabbing at all. There's no clutch pressure.

probably just some fluid transfer on the y pipe when you removed/installed it...

Is it burning oil that you smell? or is it something else? How fast is oil consuption.

Yerah it smelt like burning oil... but it all went away.. and im enjoying the brand new plugs and wires... either i dont remember what this car feels like or ... holy crap they made a difference....


And after driving a truck with a hydraulic clutch.. man its hard getting back into the SHO haha..
