Hello all, I am a long time SHO guy who has taken a leave of absence from the SHO world for almost 8 years. I have spent many hours on the Delphi forum as “92greensho”. I used to have a nice Green 92, with a custom Ram Air hood/ setup that I made. That car was rearended and totaled while parked on the street when I was out of town. Good news is that the hood was unharmed and is still in my possession. A nice blue 94 ATX with thrown rod bearing fell into my lap at work and sparked the “fever” once again. Here are some pics of my old 92 before it was totaled, and my collection of new SHOs that I have found myself with.92sho1

One month ago i never gave Taurus' a thought. Now i went from no SHOs to 4 SHOs in three weeks. I got my hands on a zero miles 3.0 and have a SB2 clutch, ss aluminum FW, clutch cable, TOB, Al SFC, UDP, Tweecer, MAF, Intrax, struts, gen3 brakes, STB, Ypipe all coming in the mail. Also working on a quafed trans.

Crazy how 25 year old technology in a family car can be so addicting. I guess that means I'm in relapse. But it feels so good!

Welcome back to the SHO's. I remember your posts about working on that hood back in the Delphi days. Hopefully you can make it to the bbq or a meet w/one of them SHO's soon.

Sitting for 20 years with no oil in it? Are you sure it's still okay? Awesome find, but it would really suck if it's got pitting in the bores or something.

I am going to pull the oil pan off and have a look see, and bringing my bore scope home tomorrow night as well. The painted block is perfect and the machined finish on the output side has just a super thin film a rust color that wipes off with a clean flat surface underneath. . . fingers crossed.

I had to promise the place I got it from that I wouldn't tell where I got it. . . . kinda like fight club :) But I didn't pay anything for it so I can sure deal with the secrets. I can say it was originally sent to one of the Ford training centers then moved and has been sitting in heated storage ever since. He is quite certain that it was never a "classroom engine" and judging by the intake and valve cover bolt heads it looks to be very true. I have been in many FMC tech classrooms and it only takes a few classes to get there hands on the stand motors before they start getting beat up, missing parts, broken connectors etc. I tried to get this motor about 8 years ago but they wouldn't let it go. I guess they figured enough time has passed and FMC really doesn't care any more.

i'll keep you posted.

Probably a community college. I had one two years ago say they had a few SHO motors they threw out as they were not up to date anymore.
