Don't forget, autox at Devens is like no other. There is nearly as much seat time at speed at a single Ford club event (NESHOC, SCMC, SVTOA) as an entire *season* of SCCA solo racing. You will learn your car (and yourself) in ways you simply cannot do on the street. Not only is it more fun than you thought possible (with clothes on), it will make you a safer and more capable driver.

Good instruction, a safe & controlled environment, no speed limits, and a day of bonding with your car the way it was meant to be driven.

Devens will likely be gone in a couple of years. Enjoy it while you can!

There are still slots for the May 5th event, some of the regulars will be off at Summit Point that weekend with the SVTOA. (still slots for May 20 also but fewer of them)

You don't need anything more than a Snell 2000 or better helmet, some extra air in your tires, and a bit of drinking water. There are usually a couple of loaner helmets but you're much more likely to have a good fit if you bring one.

You don't need to have big mods or hammer your car to have fun. In fact there's a lot to be said to starting with a stock car and crappy tires, the skills you develop on slippy tires will be very helpful as the limits are more easily explored - then when you add grip you just find the new limits.

Think of it this way - a mile and a half of entrance and exit ramps with nothing to hit except a few cones. Probably 8 runs like that in the day. Who here couldn't have fun with that???

It's a NESHOC event, we need more SHOs!

For anyone curious but unsure, I've done a little write-up about the Ford Club events and the sport in general. Where else can you run your SHO the way it needs to be driven? If your car survives street driving it'll be fine here - the pavement is glass smooth. The worst of if is some 1" cracks. Get some grip!

Let's get some forum representation here, May 5th and May 20th. Then I'll leave you alone until the two September events.

Or is everybody here just more into PARKING their cars  ???

Cheers,
- Jeff
