i got to do a ride along in a 70 chevelle today at the goodguys show and fell in love seems like a ton of fun and dont require as much as open track racing or true road course racing. adide from good springs, struts, brakes what would really be needed and what sway bars would u run on a car u drive daily i know a set of sticky tires is required

if anyone had done it let me know what u thought of it i really think it looks like a ton of fun and not as expensive as some of the other road type racing

Making sure your suspension isn't worn out and good tires would be worthwhile. As far as sway bars, you can experiment, but most people would recommend a 19.6mm, a 22mm or even no sway bar for the front. For the rear, a 26mm bar would be fine. But most imporantly, just get out and drive.

Step 1) Make sure car is in good working order and safe to throw around.

Step 2) Learn to drive the car.

Step 3) Disregard the Goodguys Auto-X course, a SCCA sanctioned club/event will be 10 times more technical, but twice the fun.

Step 4)Mod to cater your driving style. BUT, don't Mod to make up for the lack of driving skill.

I started Auto-X'ing in a full blown track car, the learning curve has been VERY steep and I've just recently got the hang of it.

Here's all of my Auto-X stuff....

That's a lot of experience in racing. I'd say get the coilovers and big brake kit from SHOSource if you can budget it. If not, sensatracs and cut moog cargo coils would be a good choice. Aside from that, you'll be wanting subframe connectors and strut tower braces, I'd think.

i just cant justify the harsh ride having to do articulating mounts, caster camber plates, and so on for a car that i will occasionally autocross i dont intend on going out and setting any records just enjoying myself having some fun

i have moog cargo`s on the car now i need to cut down and new sensatracs i just installed about 2 weeks ago i need to order alsfb`s and im just thinking of getting the intrax or b&g springs and some good summer sticky tires was thinking the bfg kdw`s any other reccomendations
