Auto rear view mirror!

I remember seeing someone's sig which said that they had added an automatic rear view mirror to their SHO. I can not seem to find this certain sig now but I obtained a mirror from an '89 continental and I got the connector with a tad bit of wiring. My dilema is the connector has 3 wires. Two of the 3 wires are copper and the one is silver. Its been a while since I did anything electrical in a car but aren't silver wires used for grounds?

I put one in my 93 with the autodim feature and compass. My wiring was pink-12 volt switched, green--12 volt constant power, and black-ground.
