I am wondering if you could make the moonroof automaticly close when you turn the car off. A friend of mines GTP has this feature, but it also has an aftermarket sunroof in it. For as many times as i have forgot to close it at night when i get to work, i think it would be worth it.

I suppose you could wire it up to a relay, get a battery source up there so that it will have power after the ignition switch is off. The main problem is going to be telling the sunroof when it is closed. Else the motor will just keep on running till it is in vent and the clutch kicks in. I might have to play with that some this weekend.

The other option would be find an older style ASI series moon roof, and pull the whole electronics system out of it and retrofit it to your sunroof. That would be a MAJOR undertaking, which at the very least would require you to remove the whole sunroof assembly, and cut holes in the tracks to mount magnets...

You could make the sunroof one touch open with the express down module. I dont think you could make one auto close though.

So it does actually stop in the close position? If so it would be real easy to make a auto close ignition switch with a relay... I might have to do that myself :)

While we are on this topic maybe someone can elaborate on this.

Why is it that when I had the stock SHO moonroof switch I could put the sunroof in the vented position and when I pressed the switch back it would close and that was that. If I lifted off the switch and pressed it again it would then open up all the way.

Now I have a contour window switch and it is like a game to get it closed If its all the way open, I have to go all the way closed, then up into the vented position then press the switch in the "back" position and let it close/seal.

Any help?

yes, it stops when all the way closed. and it works for both the tilt and the slide feature.

the '93 i'm parting out has an aftermarket sunroof that does this...it's actually a remarkably good fit for the OEM headliner, so i'd think it'd be pretty close to the same size opening in the roof. i was planning on scrapping it with the car, but if you want it to play with, PM me and we'll work something out.
