I have read the threads but didn't find an answer. 94 SHO ATX JBL sound system, everything seems to work, tape, CD, radio except there is no sound at all from any of them. I have checked the connections on the back of all the units and they seem fine, the connections to the amps in the trunk also seem fine. Any way to test the units and amps or do I have to go to a sound shop? Also the fuse was inspected and is good. All advice is appreciated.

Can you find another one and see if it works. Could be the radio is no good, or it could be an amp. My .02

Paul, Thanks for responding. No I haven't found another one to test yet. I am guessing that you were talking about using another radio. If the radio quits working would that cause the tape and CD player to not put out any sound either. thanks

I don't really know, but if you switch things and it works then the other one was crap.

I just know the Gen III's and read your post and chimed in with my thoughts. If the CD player does not work then try that first instead of the radio, and vise versa.

Do you have it plugged into the right wire harness? One is amped and one isn't...i believe, i'm still learning but maybe that could be it? o_O

This system is factory and I haven't changed anything. It was all working fine, even the CD player that I have read so much about in these threads. Then suddenly nothing played any sound. I tried the radio no sound, put in a tape no sound, inserted a CD and it was tracking and indicated it was playing, yet no sound. I know from reading these threads that there are some really good audio people here. I can't believe I am the only one that this has happened to. Help! Thanks to those who have offered advice.

Checked fuses again, okay. With volume max I get very low sound with a lot of static from all speakers when playing a CD or AM. Getting nothing not even static on FM

No, I disconnected the speakers one at a time and it didn't help the volume of the others.

It is very possible that the amp just went out I would see if you can borrow one or get one from the junk yard. I have seen too many of these amps go bad as the one in my 93 went also. You can get one for about 20 buck tho.
