I've been watching this thread,

It's about upgrading the factory system with amps and subs. We noticed something in this thread that hadn't been discovered. Someone has a 2011 with the full Sony audio system and can't seem to find the dedicated subwoofer amp. It was there on the 2010... but not on the 2011. So today I went out to look at mine. Same thing. No sub amp.

I started to do some testing and here is what I found. The two "subs" hardly that but more like a set of 6x9's that sat in the back window of every Trans Am and Cutlass in the early 80's.... are now connected to the primary amp.

The four wires at the top of this blue connector are the wires that go out to the subs. The blue/red wires are incoming power that power the amp. SO we no longer have the dedicated subwoofer. It did dawn on me that the bottom end of my 2011 system is no where near as good as the 2010 car. Fortunately though, this car drives properly.
That is all I have. Stay tuned for more.
