Okay guys problem just started, ill just take off normally nice and easy and sometimes itll shift hard as **** into 2nd hard enough to make you cringe. Now its not everytime. It also cant seem to make up its mind about what gear it wants to be in, and it will hesitate to shift out of first and chirp the tires going into second. Sometimes it will also downshift real hard when im coming to a stop.

I checked the trans fluid and its nice clean and not burnt, as i said it just started doing it. Hopefully it will be something not to bad maybe just a VSS or TPS something of that nature.

HELP!

NEW:
Well i let it sit for the night and just went out for a decent ride and it was perfectly fine, I think its even better than it was before? IDK i did take it to the wash earlier yesterday I know i know LOL Maybe it just got wet?

I had the same issue on my 94 ATX. It would upshift and downshift so hard it would chirp the tires.

Change your VSS sensor on the trans where the speedo cable plugs in. PITA to change but it's only a $25 part and that fixed mine.

I had the same thing happen to my 94 opal frost years ago. The tranny guy said it needed a rebuild. I didn't have money for that at the time, so I put a bottle of TransX in the tranny, ran it for a while, changed the fluid, and it worked fine after that. That happened at 115k six years ago. I sold that car to a local club member in Washington at 156k, and she put another 20k on it before she sold it. And I believe that was the original tranny. VSS on the top of the tranny? Dang... I never even looked into that.

Try the VSS, and if its screwed you can always go for the miracle in the bottle stuff.

FYI my atx did the same thing i was always nice to it, sold it to my cousin, he would manually downshift on the freeway and such to race, didnt take long for it to shit the bed.
