Hi,
Im going to be replacing my shifter soon, just the handle. Is there a trick to getting it off without breaking anything? Do I need to tear the console apart?

The handle itself is difficult to get off - there is a "C" ring that holds it on, down almost at the bottom of the leather part. You have to remove that "C" ring to get the handle to slide off.

When you do that, you have to remember that there is a wire inside it for the OD cancel button, which you want to disconnect at the proper location, iirc, that is at the bottom of the shifter tube.
