I have not been able to get the overdrive to turn off in my car in the 8 months i have owned it. You press the button and nothing happens . No light or anythning . Well yesterday morning I start my car and out of the blue the O/D off light appears on my dash . So i leave the driveway down the street and the light was correct . The O/D was in fact off.

I leave for my lunch break a few hours later and start the car and once again the light is off and overdrive is back on. I live in florida and yesterday morning it was about 48 outside. This morning was slightly warmer.

Any ideas on what this problem could be . And is there a quick solution ?

Thank you for your fast response. I did look at sho times under care and feeding and didnt see that and still dont. I did see the article about replacing this shift **** and it did mention the O/D button wiring . Is this what you were talking about ?

ur o/d wiring is probably pinched. take the console apart and u will see what the problem is, a cut or pinched o/d wire. resolder it together or u can also relocate the wiring and install a separate button. i believe the o/d button is a normally open switch.
