While at a steady RPM, the car has a ****/hesitaion. Starts up just fine...sometimes the idle climbs to around 1500-1700rpm then goes down after a couple of seconds. Any ideas????
No check engine light.

Sounds like a spark misfire or even a soon to fail crankshaft position sensor. Check the plugs, wires and plug wells for oil. If the plugs are not the Motorcraft AGSP2PP, then what are they? What are the gaps? Same for the wires. Are they the Motorcraft parts made specifically for the SHO? Did you find any oil in the plug wells? You must investigate.

I was actually looking at replacing the plug wires. I changed the plugs about 1 1/2 months ago with the Autolite at the recommended gap. My CPS looked clean when I replaced the water pump about 2 months ago...just replaced the CID sensor last week also. I cleaned the intake when I changed the plugs. But my DIS mod has some light cracks where the harness connects into it, maybe this has something to do with it?

With damage to the connector on the NAF, that could be the source of your lack of ignition. But then, Autolite plugs don't guarantee very long term sparking either.
