Your battery is toast. Maintenance free auto start batteries are not meant to be discharged all the way.

How long did you leave the battery charger on?

I've been having electrical problems with my SHO. A couple of weeks ago the car seemed to take a few more cranks to start. Then a few times the CD Changer and radio would seem to turn on and off. With headlights on, radio on and using the power windows would causing poping noises in the speakers like there was a power surge. All lights would go dimm. Took the battery out of the car and hooked it up to a charger for a few hours till the charger read full. Drove the car for a couple of days and everything seemed normal again. Took it to Advanced Auto and they checked the battery and Alternator and said everything was fine according to their machine. a few days later, the electrical problems seemed to come back. Battery was week again. Took the battery out and instead of recharging it, I used the de-sulfate mode and did that for two 24 hour cycles. After it was done, recharged the battery a few hours again till charger read full. So far the car seems fine again but I've only been driving it for a day since the last time I charged the battery.

Will need to check the relay. Hope I don't need a new battery. Mu Advanced Auto battery is only about 2 years old and is covered under warranty but i can't find the receipt :(

Still having problems. The anti-theft light comes on after the car has started. Usually flashes very fast for a few minutes then goes to a slow consistant flash like it was armed then goes away. After I got to work today and turned off the ignition, the alarm light flashed quickly while making a clicking sound. Any one had this happen before?

Umm...if you gave them your name/phone number when you bought it, you dont need your receipt. I walked in to an advance auto and said I bought a starter at the advance near my parents house (no receipt). Guy looked at me, I said go ahead and call them (the advance auto's stores arnt linked like autozone, so they cant lookup what you bought at another store). He says, I believe ya, here's a new one. :omg:

Here's my day yesterday. Found my receipt for the Advanced Auto battery I purchased in December 2003. Yeah.

Drove the SHO to work, no rpoblems. Mind you its hot but I'm afraid to use the AC and no radio. Head out to lunch using the SHO. On the way back from lunch, I'm sitting at a stop light and the car just shuts down for no apparent reason. No hesitation, strange noices, just shuts down. I turn the ignition off and the car starts right back up no problems. Get to work ok after that. Leaving work and power locks aren't working. Try to start the car and no start. No power. Jump start the car with the portable jumper starter and car is running fine. Head to the Advance Auto that is close to work different from the one I visited previously near my home. It was about a 15 minute drive with no problems after the jump start. Get there and the guy tests my battery. Machine reports a good battery. I start the car and it starts right up. This is getting fustrating. Leave Advanced Auto and head home. Gas was getting low and right when the gas low light comes on the car hesitates like it wants to stall. Pull into the gas station to get some gas. Car starts right up and I head to my dads place for a visit. Leave there for home and once again car starts right up. I'm at a lost.

Replaced the Battery Saver red fuse this morning with one of the spares. Did you do anything with the ********* fuse/relay that is also marked as battery saver? Checked my ground from the battery and the connection seems ok. Undid the bolt and rebolted everything just in case. Decided not to drive the SHO today. May drive it a bit tomorrow before scheduling an appointment with the dealer later next week.

Well you need to do some investigating.

What is the battery voltage when the car is idling after a drive and with no major electrical loads? At 1500 rpms?

Then turn on all the electrical loads you can and get the battery voltage again while the car is running at idle and again at 1500 rpms.

What is the battery voltage in the morning after the car has sat all night and before you start it?

Have you checked the amperage draw when the car is off? It should be less than 50mA (.05A).

Ok purchased one of those cheap voltage meters that plub into your cigarette lighter.

Engine off after car was sitting for 1 day undriven - 12.5 volts

Idle after car has warmed up, no load - 13.6V

In park at 1500 RPM, no load - 13.6V

Idle with load (headlights, radio, dome lights) - 13.0V

In park at 1500RPM with load - Fluctuate between 12.5 - 13.1V Interior lights flicker when accessories are turned on and off.

I don't have an AMP meter so didn't getting any readings on that amoerage draw.

That means the battery is good and there is no excessive draw when the car is off.

Idle after car has warmed up, no load - 13.6V

A little low should be around 14V.

In park at 1500 RPM, no load - 13.6V

Should have been higher than the idle voltage

Idle with load (headlights, radio, dome lights) - 13.0V

Way low should be 14V

In park at 1500RPM with load - Fluctuate between 12.5 - 13.1V Interior lights flicker when accessories are turned on and off.

Sounds like a new alternator is in order.

I don't have an AMP meter so didn't getting any readings on that amperage draw.

From the overnight volt reading this does not sound like a problem

shoz123 is right you do have a alt problem it sounds like. you should have a higher reading then that. mine was putting out the right amount of volts but i was still losing power. i dont know if these have a built in voltage reg or external one.
