Acually, you can. ****SHOman24v:
uhhh, i dont think you can flip the shims, they have two surfaces one shiny (for use of the cam) and one rough (not for use of the cam)
Thats right usually all there is different is that the shim will have a dark spot in the center from oil deposits clean that off and your ready to go.yamahaSHO:
There is nothing wrong with flipping the shims... If one side looks rough then something has happened to them.
I'm still with Bizzy on this one. They look a bit rough and nasty. After looking at the pics you have, I'm not so certain I'd reuse those. They have some interesting marks in the centers and a lot of them look like they're pretty work near the edge of the shim. Could cause them to not be the same thickness across the entire shim.
I would suspect optical illusion as the result of micro-scratches and camera flash or overhead lights. Or maybe just really weird shims!!Bizzy:
.......... and the score marks in the centers of those......what the heck caused those?

Perhaps so, but I've never seen anything like that before.pjtoledo:

Looks like the reflection of an overhead two-bulb flourescent light fixture.Bizzy:
A shim that looks like this one should't be re-used front or back IMO. It appears to almost be deplated or something, and the score marks in the centers of those......what the heck caused those?
