So I got ahold of one of these insane 29mm RSB's. I believe they were only sold by SS correct??

Has anyone put one into a gen 3?

The good news is that I got this in trade for the stock bar that I removed from the wife's 99 when I put the 26 on there. So even if it sucks, I'm not really out much except some shipping.

I assume if I were to put this puppy in my car a larger front bar will be mandated as well as an FSTB???? Hopefully someone knows a good plan of attack. I really love the balance the 99 had at Blackhawk with the 26mm RSB, and the FSTB added, what should I expect to have to do to get similar balance out of my 96? Also what endlinks will stnad up to the loads that this bar is going to dish out; should I just pick up a set of endlinks for a Gen I as they are beefier to accomodate the 26mm.

Thanks,

Scott

Scott, I have one in my 95 (granted, not Gen 3), and I love it. Have had a number of 24/26 people comment on their liking it too.

If you decide to part with it, let me know. I'd like to see how the 24/29 combo works on the Gen 1. :D

So Fred, you are running with a 24/26 setup Plus the FSTB? I'm just wondering what I will need to do to have good balance.

I'm running the stock 95 ATX bar up front (to my knowledge, haven't measured it), with the 29mm rear. SFC's as well. Have the front & rear STBs, but have not installed them yet, running on stock struts & springs.

I also have the 91 SHO, running the stock 24/26, SFCs, front STB only (rear not installed yet) on Tokico's & Eibachs.

About the only complaint I have on the suspension of the 95 ATX is the creaking of the rear bar bushings. :)

They both handle differently; the 95 seems a bit more refined, especially with the VAPS; the 91 is more primitive, more linear. The 95 seemed to "push" more in turns than I expected.

well guys...believe it or not...my 21/26 setup on my GEN3 is just fine. usually this would produce evil oversteer from what I've read/heard, but if you do the 21/26 setup with a FSTB, it'll feel pretty good. The reason I've yet to install the 24mm FSB is because I was told that the FSB off of a GEN1 doesn't quite match the GEN3 hardware (told by FPS)....is there any truth to this? The bar I have is from a '91 SHO.

The 24 mm front bar needs some split collars to stop it from sliding around. The OEM 22mm fsb as the collars as part of the bar.

hmm...any "easy" was of going about this? I got my new KDW's installed today.....the car turns in like a mother....the back of the car feels a little light mid-corner, but nothing to really worry about. Went through some corners with some uneven road and it still stuck pretty confidently.

Where can we acquire such collars?

Also I'm wondering if the Gen I endlinks are heavy enough for the 29mm bar in the rear.
