The NR gauges that I received are not able to install without removing the needles. Here is a short/long "do it yourself" instructions.
NR White Faced Gauges Installation
Take off the bottom panel underneath the steering wheel
Take off the dash panel (2 screws up top), headlight **** and nut under headlight ****.
Slide out the dash panel top first then bottom, it will take some coaxing but it snaps out.
Unhook the electrical connectorsin back of heater panel and swivel the whole panel towards the door. ( there was a small wire on top of the headlamp switch that I could not undo so I left it there).
Take off clear lens. (be careful it will crack very easily)
Take off black panel. (You do not need to take instument cluster out.)
Take out old black facias on the idiot panels by popping them out from the rear the are glued on and install the idiot facias on pop out panels (some trimming of white panels is required by using scissors. only about 1/16 of an inch off the edges).
DO ONLY ONE GAUGE AT A TIME and take your time as to mapping out the position of the needles. Also with the white gauges, make sure your hands are very clean, especially after taking apart your dash! The white gauges like to attract lots of smudges, be careful! take out stop pins on speedo and tackometer and turn on ignition without starting engine and map position of each needle, flick them around a bit to find its center, I drew everything up on paper. take off the needles carefully by prying on all corners of the needle to loosen, then pop off directly towards you.
Rip the old facia off and apply the new one by exposing the adhesive underneath facia.
Put on needle by turning on ignition to center gauge pin and then put back on needle as per your drawing of were it was with ignition on. (scrape off the white paint under needle and paint the bottom of it red or orange to stand out on the white facia. the speedometer needle is the only one that needed super careful mapping when you turned on the ignition it centered off the gauge.
Reinstall everything and you're done.
The whole job took around 1 1/2 hours taking my time and its pretty easy.
If you do right the first time, congrats! I failed at this, leaving it to a local speedometer shop to charge me $165. More than the gauges were worth!
Unfortunately I won't be able to post pics till this weekend.
