So I’m trying here at the mechanic shop to put everything first off the rear turbo hose is impossible to put with a clamp on it( so far I left it without a clamp). Then the metal piece that goes under the filter it self isn’t even close to fit anywhere in that area. Anyone know of a full video of how this is done because it’s impossible no matter how many times we trying to make it fit. I been here for 5 hours already

Maybe wrong clamp or clamp is too tight? That's the only thing that makes sense if you are able to get it on without the clamp. You could try putting clamp on turbo and pulling the S tube partially onto turbo, then sliding clamp over it and then pulling S tube all the way onto the turbo inlet.

I am not aware of any video but I was ready to throw a few tools straight thru the wall when I did mine. The airbox tray I spent at least 2-3 hours trying to get it to fit, gave up once and drove around with entire intake installed except for that tray for a week or two....then tried again for at least an hour, and out of nowhere the piece of excrement just dropped right into place and fit. I wish I knew how or what the trick was.

Man I spent 11 hours with 3 different mechanics and it’s legit impossible. The rear turbo hose clamp I have tried everything I can’t get it to work the only ones I was able to put on were way to big and don’t close and the ones that I was able to close I wasn’t able to put them on like I did the original stock intake within 20 mins everything legit took 20 dam minutes and this shit 11 hours and nothing. And I was gonna go without the clamp which I was gonna regret later for sure but the air Trey was nowhere near gonna fit like it was so far from it I couldn’t spend anymore time or money. The crazy part is I tried cancelling the order 2 hours after placing it and this a$$hole mike emailed me 1 hour after my email saying it’s already been worked on and I can’t cancel it and took it 22 days to get shipped and another 10 days to arrive so I know he was for sure lying about it and I emailed him
Just now telling him all the issues I’m having he don’t care about nothing which in my eyes that’s an extremely low life kind of person. It’s not that I haven’t tired and went thru 400 bucks and 4 different shops todo this

Just be glad you didn't get hot pipes at same time. I did both at same, one had metric clamps the other had standard size. That's a whole new level of rage when you constantly have to switch sockets because someone wanted to save a dime on each clamp.

I did mine in the garage on jack stands. Took some finesse. Only issue I had was the clamp for the front turbo was to small. Luckily I had another one on hand and used it. A good install video or good instructions would go a long ways. I agree with @ridered74 also, some continuity would be nice. I took all my parts for both kits out because I got it powder coated locally. So of course all my clamps got mixed together.

I too used a regular hose clamp on the back turbo. the front J pipe was a bit too long so I trimmed it and didn't put the clamp on it at the joint because it can't come out as the air box holds it in. the main part of the air box took some small trimming and had to make sure the wiring by the fender side was tucked out of the way to not rub the box.

Much like @76FoMoCo I trimmed the front j pipe and took care to tuck wires out of the way. There was just enough room to finesse the air box in and if the battery was all the way forward in the tray there wasn't quite room. That hose on the rear turbo was the biggest pain with a clamp that just barely could be closed, all while unable to see it above your head. Took about about 7 hours for a seasoned technician and myself to do it. Definitely easier with 4 hands vs 2. Both of us are super laid back personalities and we were swearing/near breaking point along the way. That being said, a video would be a plus, but I'm not sure one could be made that would be PC enough for public consumption lol.

I think that is exactly why there is no video. Once you get it in, there is zero desire to disconnect any part of it and be forced to mess with it again.
It's likely better for ppe that there isn't one either, not great media attention if you're video has flying wrenches and language that would make a sailor blush.

I havent done the intake but I did the hot pipes. The only part that sucked on that was the noisemaker delete. The reason was the same, the clamps I was sent simply didn't fit. A trip to Oriellys for some different clamps and $6 later it went on just fine.

I certainly wouldnt waste 11 hours trying to make a clearly wrong clamp fit. Go buy a different clamp, install and move on. The air tray from everyone Ive ever known to install is just a matter of twisting/rotating until it suddenly drops into place.

To my recollection I also had that clamp that was too small. It’s very frustrating bc there’s definitely a degree of trust…..that you receive all the correct parts. I wasted a little time with that same clamp. All the way open it’s too small. It fits over the silicone hose when the silicone hose isn’t on the rear turbo. Then if you try and open it more it falls apart. Then you try again thinking….but surely somehow this works bc they sent it to me?

I used a different clamp that I happened to have and it was fine. I didn’t have to modify the tray or any piping. But I also had the car on Jack stands and recently had installed exhaust manifolds and turbos. I didn’t have downpipes or the passenger side axle and knuckle in my way. Even the strut tower bar was off. If I did an install video ppl would probably think all that shit needed to come off and thought ….**** that! Lol!

But putting the wrong parts in a box and sending it off like it’s all good I thought was lame AF. I have no forgiveness for such an easy thing to prevent. I’ve sent plenty of packages, including car parts…..for me to accidentally include the wrong part or lack thereof I’d have to not give a ****. So I can’t empathize with an attention to detail mistake.

Seems like a common occurrence. He’d be better off including more clamps than needed.

I bet Mike at EPP would have all the same complaints if he didn’t offer this and bought it like we did. The clamp that’s too small and the different clamp sizes anywhere from 11-12mm. So it’s pretty frightening that someone with wrenching skills like Mike ….is the one signing off on that. Oh yeah and some ppl get pipes in a box with no packaging material to keep them from touching/moving around.

It’s like passive aggressiveness. Thanks for your order…..here’s your ******* pipes (slams in a box with no packaging) and your ******* clamp that doesn’t fit. Lol!

That’s the only way I can imagine it, as 100% intentional. Lol.

Then on the other end of the spectrum I had to sign for a booster badge I bought….yes it required a signature……and it had so much packaging I could have padded the pipes I got from EPP.

I remember someone complaining once about getting pipes with no packaging and Mike came back pretty hot at him because they were raw pipes and saying it says right on his site that raw pipes do not get any type of packaging. Then the customer posted a screenshot of his website that did not have that message at his time of purchase. LOL!

I got raw pipes and they came decently wrapped. I'm guessing a change from that interaction. It was a pretty heated back and forth. Basically I didn't pay you to coat them so I am not as worth your time?

Had kind of a similar issue when I tried talking to him about producing the gauge pods again. Basically he needed 10 people fully paid at a high price. Product had multiple complaints from past users for finish issues. Seemed like he took a good product and then tried to 3d print it on a quick print and make a bunch of money.

Is there another option other than EPP? I would prefer not to buy a product with the wrong clamps and from a person who is known to be less than kind. I could also buy the OEM off of a car without the noisemaker. Looks like it’s about $100 from Tasca.

Airraid or roush is another option, usually around 200 ish if you can find a used one, 300 plus for a new one.

For some reason, I was thinking this thread was regarding the EPP noisemaker delete lol. I have an Airaid intake.

Well an alternative to that is buying the explorer or mks pipe. Those don't have the noisemaker on and retains the stock look.

I purchased the EPP air intake approx a year ago. I’m finally having it installed at a bodyshop, and the installer let me know it was missing a 90* coupler. I emailed Mike at approx 7pm and he replied at 8pm confirming what I needed. At 8am the next morning the shipping label was created and it was being sent off.
It’s not favorable it was missing a part and hopefully no other parts are missing, but I was impressed with his customer service thus far.

Yea man and to think that he will fix that issue after so many people complained. I had to shave a few things and use 2 different clamps and take out a few things near the rear turbo to get it going. For the price which is over double any other CAI this issues shouldn’t even exists
