So I have my DSR1 mostly working except the amp turns on and off constantly and sometimes just stays on and never turns off. The amp was on this morning and hot where it had been on for hours. My 5A battery tender had cut out on overheat trying to keep the battery up. The idatalink tech support people are useless and don’t even respond 90% of the time. What I want to know is if they all do this or do I have a defective unit. If they all do this, I’ll just have to find an ignition switched 12 v source to hook to the amps remote.

Didn’t realize Rockford had support for the dsr1. I thought it was all idatalink for software. I have the latest Rockford firmware on it, but I’ll give them a call.

Yup, separate companies. You should update your IData Link Maestro firmware before the DSR1.

Yes, separate tech support depending on if the issue is with the DSP side of the integration side and separate firmware for both.

Personally I found RF to be a waste of time as far as getting support, they mostly tried to point the finger at idatalink or the install. Idatalink at least tried and did send me custom firmware but didn't resolve all my issues and I finally gave up and switched the PAC Amppro. AFAIK I did not have this issue with the amp staying on.

Yep. Same results here. They just pass the buck back to idatalink. I finally got a response out of idatalink, and apparently the engineer who writes the code is out of town. Great. Lol

Guess I’ll just find an alternate amp turn on source. I just hope the dsr1 waking up constantly doesn’t run my battery down. The lights on it flash on and off all the time and it’s almost never idle.

So is everything seamless with the Amppro? Anything else I need to do to hear Sync voice prompts, nav prompts, etc. Does the amp remote turn on work reliably? I discovered a new issue today. The volume up down takes forever when you hold the steering wheel buttons. With everything else, I’m growing really tired of how crappy the dsr1 works and am thinking about ordering an amppro with optical and a twk d8 if it will just work once and for all.

I set up the DSR1 before it was installed and massed with it a lot before it was pulled. The shop did the PAC install and I believe it has to be configured similar to the DSR1 once set up I have no issues. I forgot about the slow volume response with the DSR1 but I did have that issue as well, it was worse with the steering wheel controls and I had to slowly press up or down multiple times to go a few clicks lower. With the PAC I don't notice any real lag and can hold the up or down and the volume will continue to get louder/softer until I let go.

I found the DSR1 super noisy and the PAC a huge improvement but still had some noise/whine. The optical fixed that. I think my car is noisier than most though as I have heard from a couple DSR1 users that didn't have as bad of noise issues I did.
