To start off with, we were in the process of replacing front main seal. Along with that went all new belts. We put the timing belt on and after double checking to make sure it was right, tried to start her up. No spark - none, zip, nada, etc. etc. So we replaced the CPS. Still no spark - and I don't want to just throw parts at it..............we are in the process of getting a scanner, but until then, any opinions???

Did you properly gap the CPS to .030"?

Also, you don't need a scanner to read the codes. Just a paperclip or a short piece of wire. There are two links in my signature to sites with instructions on how to read them yourself.

If the CE light goes out during cranking the EEC is recieving the PIP signal. Check all the DIS grounds, etc. Doing front end work is no where near those sensors unless you disturbed a wiring harness or the main EEC harness going into the firewall.

114 and 116 will not cause a no-start, so I'd suggest worrying about those later.

Are you seeing tach movement when cranking? Did you reinstall the two bolts that secure the crossover tube to the intake? Could you have left any connections disconnected?
