dunno if you other houston guys get to the track very often, but if you do this may interest you. I'm part of HSRA and every month we participate in the Car Club Bash at Sealy 1/8 mile track. it's basically bracket racing where you earn points for your club. it usually happens on the first saturday of every month, but can change. all the dates are at www.lonestarraceway.com . yeah so if any of you guys are interested in coming and hanging out or even racing you're more than welcome to race with our club. just thought i'd get the invitation out to see if anyone is interested. i'm usually there every month, but i am still trying to graduate from school, so that does have to take priority every now and then. so yeah, post up if you're interested. it would be really cool to get some more SHO's out there. we have a pack of lincoln mark VIII's that think they own the place.....

That's an impressive 1/8 mi time..
I might drag my ATX out there sometime, but last time I drove out to the drag strip, I ended up with a racing ticket, and a speeding ticket.
what a pain!

yeah would love to see some more SHO's out there, expecially if they were running for out team :D . we always meet up and cruise up there together, so we've managed to avoid big tickets so far...(where's some wood to knock on!?!). i'll post more information when it comes closer to the time.

yeah i'm kinda surprised by my 1/8 mile times too. all i do is take out the spare tire, jack, and whatever i have in the truck, remove the left side headlamp and let it cool down. i also preplaced the air bow with a cone filter and removed that silencer cone thing. other than that, stock ATX. i know it has faster times in it. i'm going to take it down to HRP one night and see what it will run there. last time was a 15.31 @89 with the sidelamp still in. i'm pretty sure i can crack a few 15.1's though...

My best time in my 93 MTX at HRP was a 15.1@94mph.
The launch was terrible, if I could have gotten it to leave the line like I'd like to, the car was capable of 14.9's, maybe a little better.
I think the auto's are easier to launch, but I just don't see me getting anything lower than 15.4's out of the auto...and I'm afraid that time is optimistic..
Guess I won't know till I try tho. thumbs_u

i'm sure i can get mine down to a 15.1 or maybe even better with perfect conditions. maybe one reason is that i only weigh about 125lbs...hey let me know if you're ever headed down to sealy or HRP and i'll try to make it out there.

To bad I don't live down there or you would see me every week at the track as you can tell I go to the track a lot and it's an 1/8 mile also. It would be neat if I could make it every week and help the group out because I'm always consistant with my times and can tell you what I'm going to hit if nothing goes wrong down the strip. Maybe I'll make some trips who knows, I'm just kind of worried about heading over there with limo tint and the cops down there. I'm use to my city and know everything and worry none about it, but things change when you travel. Maybe with my windows down. thumbs_u

Oh yea and I got those R/T's down like the back of my hand boink

Just south of Fort Worth. I keep trying to go to the track everytday and they keep canceling due to cold weather. It's like I got my clutch in and I can't get no good time before I wear it even more as I am now.

What are you concerned with having limo on the back and rear windows? I have double limo (5%) on all windows and (35%) on the windshield.

Well lets give you a hand clap to the tree on the side of the road at night. How cool,I want to be like you  Can we go ahead and take the windows out and replace them with metal/steel sheets and paint them?

What I had worries about is for example what happened today when I made a run for it and got away and no I'm not full of bs

Oh yeah and it's not only limo in the back and rear as I mentioed the frnt also wink

Tell me how many times do you pull your car out to drive?

Your sig says "except for the driver's door" duh??

My car is daily driven and has been since 1993.

I guess you didn't make the run, didn't get that insurance problem taken care of yet....Are you the one that sends personal emails off the list with the username "sandra"?

Rest assured...from what I hear, you and I are nothing alike.

I have insurance dude. For those that miss understood, I said I was uninsured at that time because my SHO was non drivable for 2 months due to the cluch and there was no point to insure a car that's not drivin'. The reason I didn't go on the run was because some pu$$y univited me and tried to act all cool about it and said with insurance I could and I had and didn't want to go due to I didn't wanna look like a ******** and all the people tht jumped on about it and didn't know half the sh*t and just assumed before paying attention to what I said. Another reason I didn't go is because I had things to do and better then going on the run messing up my bad synchros too the time which I'm awaiting the parts to come in and drop the tranny again and replace and along with new tie rods and a gasket which I blew last night doing some racing.

Now about my sig saying it, yes. I just put that new sig and before it didn't say and you just mentioned rear and back windows which is nothing to worry about and I wanted to inform you about the front ones. The tint you have reminds me of a dummy in Houston with a blazer that thought he was cool and put 4 layers of limo on all the windows accept the windsheild which only had 1 layer. If you see an idiot with his head out the window at night, that's him and he thinks he's so cool. He also had a doctor to make a fake print out with permission to tint his windows like that due to his eyes and UV rays and ride like that.

Well that's the last I want to hear after it's been discussed many times and calmed down until you brought it back up. I guess you still didn't understand what I ever said nor seen where I mention I had my insurance  I guess you where to busy eating your breakfast tacos and listening to UFO shrug

Well about user name "sandra"...I never use it and everything is listed in my name. Just because an e-mail address has it doesn't mean it's listed as that.

As for me and you not being alike from what you hear. I don't know how you can asume that, that being I never personally talked to anyone on the list in person nor phone accept Laurence and Brian C. Now if they told you then okay, but I'm sure they didn't and if they did then you must be some crazy mean dude that wont make me take my time to talk with nor meet. shrug

That is really odd that the tint on my car bothers you. I am sure that there are other things that I have on there that would really cause a stir. *shiver*

Glad to hear that you got the insurance fiasco taken care of, lots of folks in the group have spent a lot on their cars and with you not having insurance it made them nervous.

Your tint doesn't bother me, it's just no point to go over 5% because after that it's very hard to see at night. It's hard for me to see backing out the driveway, scared I'll wreck the fence coming down the hill. I have to roll the window down and use the mirror to see the fence post and I get as close as I can to the one one my side so I'll know I cleared the other side. I myself like dark tint, but safety comes first in my opinion and having it that dark is like driving a van with no windows. You kind of have me wondering if your J/K about it and I'll have to see it myself because that's just to dangerous in my opinion.

About the insurance deal. I don't see the point of nervous coming in effect unless they wanted to hit a parked car that had no clutch. I also believe a lot (the ones worried) just had liability and didn't want to risk the chance of being SHOless because I didn't see no one with full coverage speaking out, but that still would be a worry of an insurance raise in price due to a wreck. Well I'm about out and you seemed to take the situation a much different way then others from your last post. Well I know you have that 3.3 S/C'd, but it would'nt cause any shivers after having a family project 10 second all motor 350 '68 Maro...now can I say WOW...whipflash thumbs_u

I thought we were talking about SHO's here, lots of shivers.

As for your "family project", who hasn't done that with older iron. That's easy and very inexpensive. Been there, done that. When you get a SHO down there, that will impress me.

Yea...I want to get mine down there and if I can't get it in the Tuarus, I'll try a transplant into a RX-7 and see what it can do with the YAMAHA engine. Well if you consider $7.5 cheap for just the motor parts alone...you must be filty rich and to do the tuning and installation and also brakes, suspension, and ect. upgrades. With that much I can get a SHO close to 10's and I also mentioned it was all motor no blower nor NOS and just a 350sb, not no big 454 or something like that which is easy to do. It's something of being different. Tell me how many first generation Maro's have you seen run 10 seconds in the 1/4 on an all motor 350 small block?

I've seen 4 Camaros with that engine run that time and lower.

As for 7.5k, that is VERY cheap. But, you are obviously dedicated to making it work, good luck with it.

As for my SHO, it has every engine, suspension, braking and tuning mod currently available plus many one-offs.

I know all about being different, that is why I did it in a SHO.
