I haven't seen anything yet, but I am curious if any cowl or carbon hoods were ever made for the gen 1 or if anyone has even tried making one themselves?

There have been Gen1 Fiberglass Cowl hoods and Gen1 Carbon Fiber Plus hoods but there has never been a Gen1 Carbon Fiber Cowl hood that I have ever seen.

The places that made both styles have since gone out of business so finding one will not be easy or cheap for that matter. I used to have one on my old 89 and I didn't like it. If you ever got caught in a heavy rain, the water would go down the cowl and straight into the back 3 plug wells. After having to deal with that a few times I took it off and sold it. That same hood is currently on a black 89 up in New England.

x2 above. You can keep an eye out here, ebay, and facebook group for used units that might pop up. Or you can try and get one custom made from scratch. Not impossible, just a pain. There's not alot left out there I imagine.

I've heard a rumor that SHOSource bought and currently ownes the CincySHO hood molds. They aren't currently offering the hoods for sale so I don't know how accurate that is.

Being honest, I was actuallly thinking of making an attempt at making one
