After blowing out one of my tires badly (pics coming) on the way back from Orlando this weekend I figured it was time to do the suspension on the '91. I ordered a set of Monroe quick struts from Rockauto so they should be here soon.
Anybody interested in getting together later this month and helping me put them in? There's somebody else on the forum that wants some help, maybe we could all get together and do it all in Joisey?
If not I live in Norristown and I'm more than willing to fire up my supremely awesome grill and breaking out the Belgian beers. :thumb:
Also, along with the suspension I'd like to roll the fenders and install some new wheels and tires. Does anybody have a fender-rolling tool? (and please don't say a bat, that's my last resort only - I did that on the Contour and I don't like how it came out)
Should I go with 17's or 18's? I hate the large sidewalls that came on these cars... :oogle: I'm not really going to be tracking the car that much (if at all) as I'm building more of a boulevard cruiser and I'm more interested in looks and ride quality.
All opinions welcome!

Yes, all four struts. I'd thought about doing some bushings but I don't think I'm doing them now. Any advice on which ones I should look at?
Sounds like good advice, I'll get on that.
August 19th weekend I'm on midnights all the way through until the next Friday. So we can either do it the 19th and I don't get any sleep or we can wait until the next weekend when I'm on vacation. Hmmmm... I guess I should loosely schedule it for the 24/25th?
I know Mike said he'd help too, I'm kinda waiting for him to chime in with his availability.

Thanks for the offer but driving 3 hours each way when I'm hosting a party that night is kind of a haul... Know what I mean?

Well, on the 25th, I move into my apartment at school. I would be glad to help either next weekend, or the weekend after. I'll be working monday thru friday untill I move back in at school.

Do you need me to bring and special tools? Spring compressor maybe? I have a spare set of Eibach springs if you are interested. Also some assorted new rubber/TPR bushings.

On a different note, I, along with some helpful family members did a clutch job in 6 hours today. I am certain that my ride can now handle the abuse of track work. I have to check torque on a few things tomorrow morning, but that's it.

One last thing. I am seriously considering becomming an Amsoil dealer. One of the benifits that I have is the ability to purchase at wholesale, and pick up products at the distributer in Lancaster.

I'll have to double check the dates, I think the next weekend will work out just fine. :)

What clutch did you go with? I really liked my Ram clutch, it felt better always coming off track than it did going on, I think it liked the abuse.

Shouldn't need any special tools. My dad asked me what I wanted for Christmas so I told him a spring compressor tool. Hopefully it works (maybe you should bring yours...).

Aren't you on Corner-Carvers? There's a guy on there that said if you order $75 in stuff from him he'd give you an Amsoil dealer account. Would you like the details?

I went with the ClutchMasters stage 3.

I'll bring the compressor.

I'm not on CC.com I'm actually pretty well set to pick up a dealership on my own. It only costs $30 dollars a year.

Send me an address and I'll be there.

My schedule is open on the 1st (the next weekend) so we can do it then. Earlier if you're open, I'm destroying my fillings driving through Norristown boro everyday. EEK!

Alright John. Which day and what time. Saturday morning would be best for me.

Saturday the 1st is fine but I'm wondering, would Friday work for you? I'm thinking about driving up to Boston as I have off four days that weekend...
I'd like to start early so as soon as you can get there it's good for me.

Eric, I'll shoot you a pm with my address and cell #. You're more than welcome to help.

Burgers or chicken?

I can do Saturday, September 1st. I'll get there early. A couple of struts should get knocked out in 3 hours or less.

We'll start whenever Mike gets there. I'll grab some burgers and drinks for lunch. Any requests? I have probably 12 kinds of beer you've never seen, Dr. Pepper, Coke, Red Bull, Vitamin Water, Water, Coffee, Wine (red and white) and Gatorade. (I have a drinking problem...)
Burgers or chicken? I can grill up some chickens no big deal.

Is there anything else I absolutely have to buy? All I ordered was the quick struts. I was going to get the Moog coils and cut one coil off but after realizing how broke I am and the fact the quick struts came with coils I said F it. LOL
Also, my compressor hub is making all sorts of horrible noises, how hard is it to replace that?

I'm in unless I have to do an airport run (folks might be coming back that day, I'm not sure yet)
Where are we doing this John? Your place in Norristown?

Yeah Gezim, my crib, as it were.
You've been there, haven't you? Need the address? You've still got my cell number, right? It's pretty easy to get to my place.

Actually if you remember where Arnolds E-Karts is in Oaks I'm maybe 3 miles from there on Egypt Rd. EASY.

also fronts links too especially if the the white plastic ones .

Those are already replaced, I got the Moog greasable ones. The rears I know nothing about, do I really, really have to buy them? If I do then I'll get them but I can't afford to buy anything I don't need. Being broke sucks...
