I swapped my MAF out with one from a 92, reset the computer, now I'm getting code 14, something about PIP and/or "the ECA has been picking up irregular ignition recently"? The other codes that were previously in memory are gone now, including that 95 one about the fuel pump, I have been purposely stalling out the car and at times stalling out when I don't intend to and it still hasn't shown up. Now what irks me is that ever since I've had this car I've found about a dozen codes that come up, then disappear, from the air intake charge, to MAF, to fuel pump, to lean, to this now...it's just really weird, I'm starting to think there is some serious "gremlin" somewhere fouling up the works of this car, something has to have happenned in the last 12 years that we can't trace down just right yet...
Anyways, enough ranting for now, but any ideas as to what is going wrong here? Bad computer maybe?

The code 14 points to the output from the profile ignition pickup, also known as the crankshaft position sensor. Has your engine cut out at all? When the CPS fails, even for a split second, there is no spark signal generated and the engine cuts out like you turned off the ignition key. I have never heard of a case where the 14 code was created by stalling the engine, but it is not impossible. If your engine has not cut out, the code may have been created by the stalling that you are intentionally and unintentionally doing.

Cut out, you mean just randomly stop? It doesn't do that, it'll just stall from idle it the throttle is pressed too hard. And HunterVF was telling me that my previous code 95 related to the fuel pump would have been caused by the stalling, which is why I've been intentionally stalling it to see if it'll return, but it hasn't. I don't get why when I've found codes, and reset the computer, they don't return but something else pops up. I'm beginning to not trust what the codes are telling me now and possibly the computer has broken?? Argh if I don't have it figured out soon, I'm going to the dealer, I want all the ponies an SHO should have, not another 3.8 disguised as an SHO

in order for the pip code to return after resetting the computer, you have to drive around on the car for a little. i think that might be your problem. reset the computer. drive on it for a little while. come back when everything is warmed up and then do the codes. this will give u the most accurate test.
