Ok heres my questions about this. I know the 60k is important but how important? I know if you don't replace the shims it will wear the cam out and cut the power but anything else? I am kinda stuck here. I have an SHO with 106000 on it. I bought it from a dealer at 103000. I don't really want to put $500 into it right now because I have other things to buy plus I think it might have already been done. Read on please. When i got the car I changed the tranny fluid and abunch of other stuff that looked like it was just changed when I took it out. The car was overheating and I read about leaking water pumps so I changed it. Did not look like it was leaking at all and I flushed the system and no crap at all cam out. Ended up to be just a clogged overflow hose, I was pist but anyway, Upon closer inspection the water pump still looked brand new, plugs and wires looked brand new (motorcraft). Also the valve covers aren't leaking one bit, acctually just the oil pan speaping a little is the only leak in the whole car. I hear everyone saying the valve covers leak easy so I guess to make a long story short is, DO you think the 60K has already been done? The car runs excellent so I really don't wanna fix whats not broke. SOrry this is so long but any answers would be great. Thanks.

If your valve covers and plug well seals are not leaking it more than lickly was done. Depending on the year of your car 94-95 they are 100K not 60K. I have a 94 and I just did my 100K at 140K and it was in good shape only a couple of exhaust shims were out of tolerance by .001. You must also realize that many of the problems your worried about were brought on by poor maintenance ie. lack of oil changes. Also how you drive your vehical can make a big difference. Also whatchout for changing items chasing down a problem it can get very expensive on a sho. Use this forum there are alott of very knowlegable guys and gals that can help keep the money in your back pocket. And please either state your sho's year and motor/tranny or put it in your profile it helps speed up the process. Good luck

In my opinion don't worry about it right away with the understanding that it will need to be attended to eventually. I would be more concerned with whether or not the original timing belt is on there. If the car was overheating check the plugs to see if the gaps are in spec.
