Ok heres my questions about this. I know the 60k is important but how important? I know if you don't replace the shims it will wear the cam out and cut the power but anything else? I am kinda stuck here. I have an SHO with 106000 on it. I bought it from a dealer at 103000. I don't really want to put $500 into it right now because I have other things to buy plus I think it might have already been done. Read on please. When i got the car I changed the tranny fluid and abunch of other stuff that looked like it was just changed when I took it out. The car was overheating and I read about leaking water pumps so I changed it. Did not look like it was leaking at all and I flushed the system and no crap at all cam out. Ended up to be just a clogged overflow hose, I was pist but anyway, Upon closer inspection the water pump still looked brand new, plugs and wires looked brand new (motorcraft). Also the valve covers aren't leaking one bit, acctually just the oil pan speaping a little is the only leak in the whole car. I hear everyone saying the valve covers leak easy so I guess to make a long story short is, DO you think the 60K has already been done? The car runs excellent so I really don't wanna fix whats not broke. SOrry this is so long but any answers would be great. Thanks.
