I installed a 1400W Sony amp and two 10" Kicker subwoofers in my 95 SHO today. As I was driving down the road, I smelled something strange. I pulled over, opened the trunk, and some smoke came out of the back of the trunk. The silver box in the back of the trunk from the factory (which was used to power the factory subs) was extremely hot, so I'm assuming thats what caused the smoke. The amp and subs were still working perfectly fine, though. Any ideas?

If your not using the factory amp unplug and or remove it. Thats what I did because my subs wouldnt sit up against the back seat like I wanted.
