As per rubydist my 2012 as a button next too the rear sunscreen button that will cycle through all kinds of colors, you can even have lights on in the cabin while driving or completely off. I have no idea what years this was available or if its an option or standard, only that my 2012 has it. Hope that helps. It depends - what year is your car?
On the 13 SHO there is a menu item in Sync...they got rid of the physical button.Although there is a button hidden under the slim, rectangular door located in front of the gear selector, that allows one to toggle through both the various colors, as well as degrees of brightness.....
The color typically defaults to a light blue upon opening any of the four doors. At least on '10-'12 model years.
Not sure on 13's and up, if the default color is a programmable option, or not.

Gotcha. Well on my 13 it defaults to blue...then it turns red when I start it which is what I set it to in the menu. I see no option to change the default color on entry. Suppose it could be different on a 17 though...Ok, well that's one part.
The OP is asking if that color can be changed? He states it turns red upon opening a door.
2nd part would entail answering that. Is that a programmable feature? Changing the default color upon opening the doors?

Yes mine does that tooYup, my 2014 is blue when opening door then changes to red as I programmed it in Sync. How many of you lose your programmed color choice though? I can't tell you how many times my red that I programmed stops coming on and it's the 'default,' blue. I then have to change it back to red in Sync. This has happened enough times to p1ss me off!
My 2015 does not do that.Yup, my 2014 is blue when opening door then changes to red as I programmed it in Sync. How many of you lose your programmed color choice though? My '14 does this fairly often as well. Have not figured out the trigger for the rest, I had been thinking that maybe it was when I remote-started the car, but that hasn't proven to be the case all of the time. Annoying, but easy enough to reset, I suppose.Yup, my 2014 is blue when opening door then changes to red as I programmed it in Sync. How many of you lose your programmed color choice though?
