PhpmVhdKSAM I just got my 13 back from the auto body from a rear end hit by some idiot texting and driving. These colors don't match right?. Shouldn't they be on the hook to repair this correctly? Am I blind?

Yes they messed up. A little story here. I had a 12 red candy SHO that was hit in the rear that needed the bumper cover painted. They told me it's hard to match that color and totally blew the repaint and it looked like your car. I told them to re do it and they did but had the car a week figuring it out. I told them when it went in the second time I wanted a rental which they gave me. They got it close the second time but I'll never go there again.

From the pic alone, looks like they needed to add a touch of dark blue, and a tiny amount of black to their mix before they sprayed.

Definitely not matching though from what you posted.

Any reputable shop would also be tapering/blending/feathering into the adjoining panels as well.

This way the viewer's eye is "tricked" into not noticing any repair(s) as obvious as it appears when they just repair a damaged panel alone.

I'm going to go talk to them today after work. They've been around for decades. I've always had good work from them. Not sure what the **** happened, except the owner was gone the week it was done. Disappointed is an understatement.

X2 on this... I have seen shops literally blend a rear bumper cover replacement halfway up the car...

Which is why even a small accident can really mess up the value of a car... A close look can tell you what is oem paint and aftermarket..

They should fix it, while it sucks, I'm sure it will turn out well... I would have them detail the car for the inconvenience..

Thanks for the input. He had no problem redoing it. Taking it in today after work. He explained how these new vehicles never match 100%, because the bumper covers and the body are painted at different times. He knew it was off, but told me they thought it was the best they could do because you only notice it from certain angles. They are a good shop. They've done a lot of claims for me and I have never had any complaints. I hope it is a lot better. I'll be in touch.
