Hey guys. Just got home and found my torque converter had arrived from FordPartsGiant, however it's state has me in a bit of a mood. Before I start going full Karen, I wanted to let yall know and see if it was warranted, and also to give a warning. Now I am not sure if this falls on FPG or FedEx, I mean I am surprised they delivered the package in this state, but being a +$300 item, I have to worry that it has been damaged. I mean with the amount of tape. It's pretty clear it was slung around, and then to look in and see it has no sort of packaging material, just very dissapointing. Gonna look into either getting a replacement or a refund. Or maybe have yall tell me it's fine. Idk. Just don't like my packages arriving looking like they were at the wrong end of a shotgun.

Yeah the is odd, well if there are any scuffs or scratches I would send it back for a exchange or refund. Never know what happened inside the converter.

wonder if it came in an oem box. sometimes i will find small holes even in oem boxes that are made of thick cardboard. i don't think fpg will resist a return since its not an "accessory" part. lately have had some complain re: small parts damage and no refunds.

As someone who shipped and received parts and my wife is in the shipping business I am 99% sure this is on FedEx. They have a reputation for poor handling of packages from the time it gets to the first distribution center to the time they field goal kick it on to your porch. I had a fedex guy drop kick a gazebo (70lbs) out of the truck, got it on the doorbell camera, and filed a complaint with fedex.

I would file the complaint with fedex for documentation, that should generate some kind of case number and then contact fpg to see what they want you to do next, they may ask for the case number (if they intend to seek retribution from fedex). Given the sensitive nature of the part they aught to understand and probably send you a new part with 30 days to return the old one on their dime.

I had a fedex guy drop kick a gazebo (70lbs) out of the truck, got it on the doorbell camera, and filed a complaint with fedex.
I had a Mohawk wood floor - needed for the installation 3 boxes to finish the room I ordered 4 , had Fedex in front of me and the contractor throw off his truck floor all 4 boxes one by one. I finished the floor, we asked WTF - he said they should pack the boxes better if there was an issue. Basically lost a box and a half, we were sweating through the rest of the job. I too opened and filed an unanswered complaint with driveway camera footage. Since it was through Costco - they made good, but Fedex, has been very abusive to my Ford auto parts delivery through Ford Parts Giant. If the boxes are a bit heavy or unwieldly - they don't care to do it correct.

we could probably start a thread on mishandled packages by FedEx, I cringe when I see anything is being shipped by them especially car parts. The gazebo they delivered was destroyed and Walmart made good on it and said to keep the old one so I used the scrap metal that used to be a decent gazebo and welded it up into a bannister for my front porch. turned a FedEx horror story into curb appeal
