Alternator Swap Questions.

Need to know if the 94-95 ATX alt. can be used in a 89MTX setup with either of these wiring conversion kits.. OR do we need to use a 94-95MTX alt?

The 94ATX alt. is allready mounted to the engine.

Okay, so I know that the ATX and 94-95 MTX alternators are the same, except for the wiring(the third wire).

Since that's the case, the "How-to" on the alternator swap shoul work, correct?

Just make sure the A pin on the regulator gets field voltage. You can wire the I pin to a dash light if you wish.

Oh, and an ATX and 94/95 MTX alts are so not the same. They are both considered 3G alts, but that's about where the similarities end. Oh, they both use the same pulley nut.

As long as you've got the alt. in place and lined up, it doesn't really matter. Whatever alt. you use, you need to provide field voltage and ground along with B+ output.
