alternator replacement

i have replace the alt 3 times in a 6 month spand. what could be causing the alt to fail? i believe i have a slight mis fire coming from one of the coils. Could this be the problem?

i dont think your miss fire is causing your alt to go bad

how good if your battery

does you car have subs and an amp in it..

you could be working the alt to hard and killing them...

The SHO alternator as it was from the factory is not available. You will get a Windstar or Explorer alternator aftermarket. Exact Ford replacements are all rebuilds. Get the largest pulley you can. There are several sizes.

Unfortunately the G3 alts are not the best for rebuilding apparently. And even new ones are a crap shoot it seems.
