My on-going quest for A/C

Finally got a new football: $62 shipped from Automotix (LKQ), taken from a 98 Taurus. They give a 1 year warranty. When I ordered, I asked if these units were tested before being listed. Of course they said yes. So I pop it in last night, hoping for a cold blast, but . . . nothing. Take the car for some wide-open runs to see if that might help re-engage things. Nope.

Back to a well-respected shop this afternoon and after 30 minutes, they tell me they believe the problem is either still in the football or in the PCM. In all the threads I've read on SHO A/C problems, I don't recall any of them mentioning the PCM (as a problem). Perhaps I just didn't come across any. The diagram Paul posted above does show it in the system. They let me go, no charge, but did recommend I drop it of there during the week for a more thorough diagnosis. $88/hour

I noticed when I received the replacement football, that they had just cut the 2 wire harnesses and the plastic hose when they removed it. Does the one small temperature sensor go out sometimes?

:nut: It's gettin' HOT here in FL!!! :nut:
At least I can listen to the radio now as the sweat rolls down my face.
