alternator output

My alternator is only putting out... or I guess I should say charging the battery to 13.3 I think 13.4 at the highest. I just changed alternators, put in a 94-95 3g alt. My other was doing 14.4-14.5 so I'm at a loss to what would cause that.

Good news though, I have my car back together. I HAVE REVERSE, it's a miracle I swear. It's nice to have a good tranny again, was a long day.

Maybe the alt you installed is not charging correctly or its voltage regulator is not set or is bad?

13.4 volts at idle??

13.4 driving .. idle, I got a peak of 13.9 when I ran it today

Why did you switch alternators if the other one charged better at 14.4-14.5v?

Maybe you should have had it tested before installing it? Its also not too late to take it out and get it tested either.

I figured out the problem, my batteries weren't fully charged I put it on the charger for 4 hours last night, and I'm getting 14.4 now =)

I have 4 batteries...
