Hey all.

Last friday night, I took my car to the track.

My current mods are 3.98 gears & 225/50R16 tires, IMRC butterflies removed, saxophone delete with 45 degree elbow into the fender, K&N panel filter, and an SCT tune. I think I remember as much as 6 degrees advanced timing in some areas, and leaned out WOT from 11.5 to 12.5 or something (does it seriously flood the engine with gas above 5k?).

The tranny is fresh, with less than 5k miles, but the engine has 156k on it. All 8 coils have recently been replaced, and NGK iridiums are sitting underneath.

With less than 1/4 tank of gas and no spare tire/jack/tools, I figured this would put me somewhere in the low 15's, since I should get around 15.6 stock when it was new (with squishy stock shifts). My best run at 66 degrees was a 16.1 @88mph, and I think that was with a tail wind. Is there something wrong with my car, or is that level of performance about normal for a car this age?

What were your 60 ft times? I ran 16.0 at 91mph, but it was also around 100 degrees out.

My 60' times are between 2.5 & 2.6. Would it make a noticeable difference if I don't have a 100k valve shim done? The previous owner didn't know what i was talking about when I asked him if it had it's 100k.

Probably not. That's a pretty bad 60' time...

How am I supposed to gain .5 seconds in the 60'? Would more wheel slip be better? Because no wheel slip gained be a 16.5.

EDIT: It was the IAT. It seems it thought it was 120 out when it was 59.
