Yesterday I took a SHO that I recently purchased for an alingemnt. its a 1992 MTX with Eibach springs, KYB struts and AL SFBs. The car has never been in an accident. The left camber can not be corrected according to the guy at the shop. front is at -1.25" when the range is -1.10" to 0.10" and the rear is -3.75" when the range is -1.60 to -0.20. They sugested that I take it to a body shop! What would cause the alingment to be so off? any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appriciated.

The Eibach springs lower the ride height enough to create a greater negative camber. The alignment plates on top of the front strut towers must be drilled to break the spot welds to allow movement. Even after doing that, I had to enlarge the adjustment slots to allow even greater range of motion in the outboard direction to rise the camber up to -.8 degrees. If the camber is offset to one side at teh full range of adjustment, the subframe can be moved laterally to even the measure between the left and right. This is just one of the complications with a lower-than-stock ride height. Can you imagine the camber error with the radically "slammed" cars? Looks like this "/\" from behind.

How do you know it's never been in an accident?

Any chance the previous owner did something funky like cutting the springs or shaving the SFB's for a more lowered look?

Where did you take the car for the alignment (chain like NTB, Midas, etc., or a local garage)? Did they drill out the welds on the strut tower and rivet them? If not, you might just need a more competent place to do the alignment. Most places will adjust the subframe when necessary to reach a proper alignment. If they tried all that and still couldn't do it, then their recommendation to visit a body shop was probably the right one.

Thank all of you for your help. I am taking the SHO to another shop, on recommended to me by my local auto parts store, to see if they can be more of a help. I'll update later in the week.
