It's not a problem (I don't think). Either use your keyless entry code or the button on your alarm key ring.

My wife's '01 Impala will do the same thing.

Are you using the factory key? (the funky looking LARGE key with the little chip inside it?) If not, then the car may not be recognizing the aftermarket made key.

If you ARE using that key, then the alarm may just be working fine and you need to put it on Valet (i think).

Good Luck!

Funny mine doesnt do that. I would try this ......

1. Verify this does this on both sides?

2. If not most like the door latch is really dirty clean and re **** it.

3. If it does well I not sure what to tell you....... repost if it does it from passenger side. Yu could alos try to clean the passenger side latch also.

Food for thought hope this helps.

Also another test unlock you doors anyway you like and lock them with doors closed using the key. All you doors should lock when you turn the key. If not this may go back to the fact the sensor switch in door latch is either dirty or disconnected.

Hope this helps
