Hello all, today I started to get an airbag code of 21, out of nowhere. My battery cables were a bit loose, so I'm thinking MAYBE that could be it, but it doesnt flash or do anything at idle sitting still, ONLY when it is in motion? Thanks for the info on what it is..
Thanks!

Air Bag Code 21

http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/mod...e=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=119

21 - Safing Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly

(the airbag safing sensor and its bracket are located behind the LH kick panel).

Normal Operation

The air bag diagnostic monitor measures the resistance between Pin 16 (Circuit 613, DB/W) and Pin 3 (Circuit 57, BK ground). If the air bag diagnostic monitor measures a difference of more than 2.0 ohms between Pin 16 and Pin 3, it will flash out code 21 on the air bag indicator.

It is important to note that Circuit 613 (DB/W) is grounded to the side of the safing sensor case, and the case of the safing sensor is grounded to the vehicle in the LH kick panel. A good ground connection, at both the case and the vehicle body, is important to proper circuit operation.

Possible Causes

High resistance at Pin 16 (Circuit 613, DB/W) to ground can be caused by:

- A poor connection due to loose mounting or dirt at the LH kick panel safing sensor mounting surface.

- An open or damaged wire in Circuit 613 (DB/W) from Pin 16 of the air bag diagnostic monitor connector to the LH kick panel safing sensor.

- An open circuit inside the LH kick panel safing sensor.

Hrm... I will definitely check that module if it comes back up again. After I posted this, all last night, it didnt come back on at all. As I said b efore, I was thinking it could be the battery cables not beign completely tight on the battery, but I dont know, I'l have to wait and see. IS this Safing sensor housing blue like the airbag module itself, or no? What does it look like? Thanks in advance, I ap[preciate the nifo rockledge! :thumb:
