About a month ago, my 95 SHO started to give an airbag code 42. Finally, I've gotten the chance to work on it... learned a lot, but still have the code. Some questions:
1) Is this the sensor just behind the radiator or in front of the windshield? Both locations have been referenced for this code on the forum.
2) I've followed the procedure given here and found the sensor to be good - resistance less than .5 ohms. With the sensor connected, the circuit is open at the airbag monitor. I've checked the plugs at both ends, both yield very low resistance... seems like there's a break in the wiring somewhere in between. Where does the circuit physically go between the sensor and monitor? Are there any other plugs which may be corroded? Thoughts on troubleshooting the circuit would be welcome.

Well if you read the procedure in the other thread is says it's the radiator sensor. You just have to follow the PK/W and Y/LG wires.

"You just have to follow the PK/W and Y/LG wires."

Easier said than done! :)

Any reason why I couldn't run a couple of 16ga wires from the sensor back to the monitor, then splice them in? It'd be satisfying to find the smoking gun, but is it worth the time?

I have this same code, and I have had so many people tell me its the one by the firewall, and another bunch tell me its the one by the radiator.

All shops(including ford) say its the radiator sensor, so its safe to assume that is correct.

My wires are all good, sensor is good, and I still have the code. Let me know if you fix it :)

I'll let you know if I get to the bottom of it... once i get some spare time! :) One advantage I have is that the circuit is actually open!
