Air Conditioning Problem

Compressor quits when ambient temp approx. 85 degrees F. or hotter. Cools normally (40 degees F. from vents) otherwise. Case drain is clean, high & low pressure switches ok. Considering replacing constant control relay. Any thoughts?

Its likely the space at the clutch on the compressor that needs adjustment. When this happens again tap the end of the compressor clutch with a stick and see it it goes in. If so you need to take off the clutch and remove one of the little shims on the shaft.
